Prime Cargo Wireless network from nLogic simplifies the IT manager’s day
With a wireless network from nLogic, Prime Cargo now has a secure, reliable and intuitive network solution at its warehouse in Vestby.

Prime Cargo is one of Norway’s most flexible logistics partners. In Vestby, the company serves a wide range of customers with tailored storage, returns handling and a state of the art AutoStore solution. Jon Grøntvedt is IT Manager at Prime Cargo and responsible for the network in the 45,000 square metre warehouse. He explains that a robust network infrastructure and the right network provider are essential to delivering the quality Prime Cargo is known for.

“It is absolutely essential for us and our customers that we have a network provider that can deliver a secure, fast and trouble free wireless network.”
Prime Cargo had used a wireless network at the Vestby warehouse for some time, but was looking for a cloud based alternative with simpler administration and maintenance. It was also important to partner with a service minded network provider with deep technical expertise. The choice fell on nLogic and the HPE Mist network solution.

“Coverage in the warehouse is even and reliable. The AI driven network adjusts transmit power automatically, and we need fewer access points than before.”

Looking for simpler administration

Warehouses come with several network challenges. First, ensuring even and reliable coverage can be complicated. Warehouses often contain metal structures, shelving, goods and equipment that can disrupt signals and cause interference. Access point placement therefore requires careful planning. At the same time, increasingly sophisticated cyber threats make it more important than ever to protect the network, verify data traffic and inspect potential vulnerabilities.

Grøntvedt explains that the Vestby warehouse has a large number of devices that need simultaneous network access. And while capacity planning expertise mattered when choosing a provider, three factors weighed the most: cost efficiency, simplicity and fast support.
“We wanted a cost effective solution that we could operate and change ourselves. nLogic gave us quick and helpful answers, and even lent us equipment so we could test coverage, setup and functionality. I really appreciated that.”

Solid support throughout the process

With Juniper (HPE ) Mist AP32E and AP32, Prime Cargo is well underway rolling out a solution that meets the network needs of the warehouse. Juniper Mist combines artificial intelligence, machine learning and metadata to optimise user experiences. With an alert centre powered by machine learning, Prime Cargo also gets proactive alerts for efficient troubleshooting. Grøntvedt highlights some of the benefits:
In addition to simplicity and fast support, Prime Cargo wanted help tailoring the network to the needs of the business. nLogic carried out site surveys and measurements of the warehouse, and proposed products and placements. “nLogic has been the partner we were looking for. Together, we have not only looked at wireless solutions, but challenged each other to achieve the best possible result. Through good conversations, site surveys and radio planning, we now have a network that makes everyday work easier. And one that ensures we can keep delivering quality and reliability to our customers.”
